Episode propaganda

When life signs are detected on a nearby asteroid, Neelix (Ethan Phillips) is amazed to find a community of fellow Talaxians struggling to survive against mercenary oppressors who want only to mine the asteroid for minerals. Paralysed with complacency, it falls to Neelix to instill in them the will to fight for the land they wish to keep.

Intelligence report

Bloody hell. This is the best episode about Neelix that Voyager has ever produced. He has been the thorn in the side of the series, an annoying, ugly little weasel who made Wesley Crusher look positively simpatico. He is ingratiating, cowardly, self-absorbed and mendacious and in this episode I actually cried to see him go. Now that's entertainment.

The whole story of Homestead is an excuse for Neelix to make his decision to leave Voyager and it's occasionally less than subtle in execution but in this case the end justifies the means. Watch, enjoy.
