Kellin (Virginia Madsen) of whom Chakotay (Robert Beltran) has no memory attempts to convince him that only one month before the couple were deeply in love. Realising that the woman belongs to a species who evade memory, Chakotay begins to fall for her once more. However, the relationship encounters difficulties when her memory, too, is erased.
Special Agent Matti
Chakotay, intergalactic casanova.
James T... Kirk he ain't, but that doesn't stop anyone from trying this one on. The premise is artificial but at least it's used to make a statement about internally repressive societies. (Hello, China, are you listening?) Perhaps if Chakotay were more dynamic, adventuresome, exciting (the list goes on) it would've come off better.
This is one of my main gripes about him: he's such a wimp. I realise that they had to choose a softie so as not to upstage Katie, but there are limits, and this is one of them. (Oh well, at least they don't play that faux ethnic hippy new age music whenever he walks in the room anymore.)
Oh, heck, I'm just cynical because of recent surgery. It's a good enough episode. If you like Chakotay.
