While on shore leave, Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) and Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) are wrongly accused of terrorist activity and incarcerated. Their fellow inmates are even more aggressive than should be expected. Violence and murder are rife in the prison. The effect of the brain implant, enforced on every convict, threatens to tear apart even the Starfleet friendship...
Special Agent Matti
Tom and Harry have always been an interesting pairing, ever since that first encounter with Quark on Deep Space Nine: the cynic and the innocent, the loudmouth and the Still-waters-run-deep. This episode ties their lives together and then kicks them both in the head. It's pretty full on (in a Star trek kind of way) with some very intense interactions and a couple of touching blokey moments.
The brain control stuff is just a plot device to give everyone testosterone poisoning, so you don't have to worry about that part. If you are at all into Kim/Paris fanfic, then, hoo child, are you gonna have fun with this one! Talk about prison bitches!
The best part, however, is reserved for inter-galactic space heroine Katherine Janeway's entrance to the prison. Something worth waiting for. Be prepared to slide off your seat.
