Episode propaganda

Exploring an M-Class planet that may yield polyferranide needed by Voyager to reseal the warp coils, the crew is hindered by great meteorological resistance. Unbelievably, Chakotay (Robert Beltran) discovers an ancient symbol of his people. Memories from an expedition with his father, Kolopak (Henry Darrow), are invoked .... the mystery unfolds...

Intelligence report

Chakotay's turn to do a biographical episode.

With a trendy lefty approach to non-western cultures, Voyager goes where few dare to tread. It's almost von Daniken in its open-mindedness. Maybe alien beings have visited Earth, way back in our past, but that's no reason for it to have happened in the future.

If you are into the character of Chakotay, or the person of Robert Beltran, then this is an episode for you. Both get buck naked to improve inter-species communication. Otherwise, there's no real reason for its existence. And that bloody faux-ethnic music is giving me the shits.
