Kirk (William Shatner), McCoy (Deforest Kelley), Sulu (George Takei) and geologist Lieutenant D'Amato (Arthur Batanides) beam down to a geologically unstable planet. There they are greeted by Losira (Lee Meriwether), a beautiful woman whose touch means instant death! Meanwhile, a power surge has hurled the Enterprise 1000 light-years from the landing party, stranding them on this hostile planet. Losira has sabotaged the starship, and if Scotty can't make repairs quickly, it will explode!
