Intelligence report
Uhura takes the helm!Uhura has always been my favourite character in Star trek, perhaps because she represented so many repressed minorities/underdogs, yet she comes out trumps as a Lieutenant in Starfleet: competent, capable, creative, talented and beautiful. That red dress (which started out gold, but was changed because red looked better) did things to my pre-pubescent brain that don't bear thinking about.
Anyhoo, the other best part about this episode is that everyone is exposed to their greatest weakness: Spock's Human emotions, Sulu's wild streak, Kirk's love for his ship. And through it all, their struggle to keep the ship alive. It's a wonderfully tense and dramatic moment in the history of the Enterprise and also a very entertaining one.
