Worf is reunited with his lover, K'Ehleyr (Suzie Plakson), who brings two surprises with her. The first is Worf's son, Alexander (Jon Steuer) and the second is the Klingon Emperor, K'Mpec (Charles Cooper). He has been poisoned by one of the two successors Gowron (Robert O'Reilly) and Duras (Patrick Massett) aboard his ship. His last wish is that Picard should choose the new Klingon leader.
