Under some protest, Captain Picard is persuaded to take some leave. At the holiday resort of Risa he encounters the Ferengi Sovak (Michael Grodénchik) and the devious Vash (Jennifer Hetrick). The two of them are on the trail of some treasure, in which a third sinister party from the future - Boratus (Michael Champion) and Ajurl (Karen Landry) - are also interested. Picard teams up with Vash, but can she be trusted?
