Episode propaganda

After dropping off a colony in the Strnad System, the Enterprise visits idyllic Rubicam III, home to the Edo. An away team beams down to examine its suitability for shore leave.

Meanwhile, Data finds a sensor glitch which is only partly in this dimension and seems to indicate a presence off the starboard bow. The glitch sends over a probe, stunning Data and analysing his knowledge.

Then away team discovers a flaw in this paradise of a world. While the rules are simple, anyone who breaks the law is immediately executed. The team searches for Wesley, and they find him just seconds too late. Picard is put in the difficult position of either breaking the Prime Directive or allowing Wesley to die.

Intelligence report

Well, if you ignore the fact that Rubicam III looks like Nazi heaven - I haven't seen so many blonds in my whole life - and that any given planet will produce a variety of physical features among its inhabitants through inbreeding and natural selsection (African, Asian, Caucasian, Mediterranean, Micronesian, Polynesian, North American, South American, and that's just Earth!), Justice is a good examination of the application of the Prime Directive. It is also a good examination of the difference between justice and the law, something which many people are unable to perceive.

PS These aliens have the worst costumes in the history of Star trek.
