Archer (Scott Bakula) is ordered to transport the Vulcan Ambassador V'Lar (Fionnula Flanagan), an early role model of T'Pol's (Jolene Blalock), from the planet of Mazar to rendezvous with a Vulcan ship. En route, Enterprise comes under attack from the Mazarites, and V'Lar's integrity comes under scrutiny by T'Pol.
