Garak (Andrew Robinson), the only Cardassian left on DS9, is stricken with a mystery illness which Doctor Bashir (Siddig el Fadil) must attempt to cure. Before he can assist with Garak's condition, however, the Doctor must first try to unravel the web of deception that surrounds the Cardassian's life.
