Movie propaganda
The young Victoria focuses on the first, often turbulent, years of the monarch's rule - Victoria (Emily Blunt) became queen at 18 - and her legendary romance and marriage to Prince Albert (Rupert Friend). Devastated by her husband's death in 1861, she wore black for the rest of her life and remained largely secluded.

Theatrical report
I thoroughly enjoyed viewing The young Victoria. The stunning scenery, lavish historical sets and extravagant costumes were to die for, combined with the wonderful cinematography, the film continued to keep my interest and treat my sensorium throughout the entire screening.
The film managed to capture the life of Queen Victoria during her youthful years as the monarch in such a way which was appealed to both a modern and any-age audience. It embarked on the most beautiful love story, which I find rare in films from this genre. I appreciated the warm overtone, likeable and diverse characters, and the depiction of the historical accounts without the dull, documentary feeling which threatens films of its type.
I must confess I was sceptical when hearing of Emily Blunt playing the leading lady, as I can.t shift visuals of her character in The Devil wears Prada, but to my surprise her portrayal of the queen was well acted and has earned her the much deserved success that she has received from this film. The cast was well chosen, not too pretentious, but the perfect balance to create a captivating narrative.
it is definitely a film to be seen on the big screen, and one I would recommend not only for lovers of period films but for anyone who loves a good love story or human drama.
