It's the last one you'll ever take.
Thomas Avon (Jeremy Sisto) has a job interview in Raleigh in three hours and he's making good time in his refurbished classic Mustang convertible... until an accident miles down the highway turns Thomas's 3-hour trip into a 6-hour wait. Determined to make his critical appointment, Thomas makes a u-turn and heads back up the West Virginia highway. Running low on fuel, he finds a dirt road that seemingly intersects the highway after about 30 kilometres. It's clearly a road less travelled, but to Chris, it seems like a quick fix to get around the highway traffic jam. Not far away, Jessie (Eliza Dushku) and her friends Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Carly's boyfriend Scott (Desmond Harrington), Evan (Kevin Zegers) and his girlfriend Francine (Lindy Booth), stand quiet; stunned as they survey what's left of their road trip after the tires blow out, leaving them stranded deep in the middle of the woods. The group ultimately bands together to find a phone, as Evan and Francine stay with the cars, and the other four make their way down the road. As they venture deeper into the woods, they face an uncertain fate.
