A true story of courage and survival.
World Trade Centre follows the true story of the heroic survival and rescue of two Port Authority policemen - Sergeant John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage) and Officer William J Jimeno (Michael Pena) - who were trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001, after they went in to help people escape. The film also follows their families as they try to find out what happened to them, as well as the rescuers who found them in the debris field and pulled them out. Their story shows how the best in people rose above the tragic events of that day.
Only 20 people were rescued alive from the World Trade Centre after the collapse of the buildings. Officer Jimeno and Sergeant McLoughlin were the 18th and 19th.

Special Agent Matti
What is really amazing about 11 September 2001 is not that the passangers on a hijacked plane fought back against their hijackers but that the passengers on three planes didn't. When a terrorist holds a (metaphorical) gun to your head and says that you're going to die, weeping and wailing about it is pointless. Stand up and kick him in the balls. You'll probably still die but at least you kicked him in the balls.
