3 days of peace, music... and love.
An intimate look at the Woodstock Music and Art Festival held in Bethel, NY in 1969, from preparation through clean-up, with historic access to insiders, blistering concert footage, and portraits of the concertgoers; negative and positive aspects are shown, from drug use by performers to naked fans sliding in the mud, from the collapse of the fences by the unexpected hordes to the surreal arrival of National Guard helicopters with food and medical assistance for the impromptu city of 500,000.

If you have any recollection of the dawning of the age of Aquarius, or if you've lost all your memories from the dawning, Woodstock is the film for you. It has flares, tie-dye, long hair, protest songs, spiritual awareness and hippy shit. Oh, and over 3 hours of live music from some of the greatest performers in history.
There's also a lot of "behind-the-scenes" stuff, from the mowing of an open field to interviews with genuine hippies and flower children and the people responsible for bringing the whole thing together. As a documentary it won't change the world but it will let you understand what happened even if you weren't there.
If you only buy this DVD to see Jimi Hendrix rip into The star-spangled banner, you will have done yourself a service.
