Movie propaganda
January 1945. During the last winter of WWII, Nazi occupied Holland lies under a blanket of snow. Food is scarce with many people heading east in a desperate attempt to find sustenance.
When 13-year-old Michiel (Martijn Lakemeier) becomes involved in the Resistance, he learns that good and evil often sit side by side without anyone noticing.
The story is based on the beautiful novel by Jan Terlouw and even more than 50 years later, the story lets us feel the the gruesome, but also adventurous aspect of growing up under the circumstances of war.
