Adventures in wild California
Threat advisory: Guarded - General risk of entertaining activities
Movie propaganda
Come and experience the wild side of California in a virtual expedition that'll send you careening down an icy, steep mountain face with snowboarders; twirling on thermals above the clouds with skysurfers; swimming through the oceans with otters; excavating the very heart of a thirty storey giant sequoia with botanists and emerging from under the spray of one of California's biggest, surfable waves. A heart-pounding experience that will take you to the wilder parts of California that few of us will ever know first-hand.

Theatrical report
Adventures in hot, cold, wild, tame, natural, technological, historic, modern, extreme, sunny California.
This documentary has been thrown together to make use of the large screen format. It takes quick peeks at some parts of California that the average human being doesn't see and generally wouldn't care all that much. The hope is that by putting them all together some kind of synergy can be achieved. The hope is misplaced, synergy is the last thing that occurs in Wild California. What you get is a pastiche of the Out-takes from all the Imax films ever made about California.
Cynicism aside, if you've never seen an Imax presentation, this film is an adequate introduction to the technology. You'll walk away in awe of at least one section of the film (your personality and mood determine which one/s) and you'll be in the mood to experience one of the higher quality flicks, like Cyberworld in 3d.
