Movie propaganda

Ambitious young New Yorker Beth Harper (Kristen Bell), disillusioned with romance, takes a whirlwind trip to Rome where she defiantly plucks magic coins from a "foolish" fountain of love, inexplicably igniting the passion of an odd group of suitors: a sausage magnate (Danny DeVito), a street magician (Jon Heder), an adoring painter (Will Arnett) and a self-admiring model (Dax Shepard). But when a charming reporter (Josh Duhamel) pursues her with equal zest, how will she know if his love is the real thing?

Theatrical report

Well, you know what they say: When in Rome, do as the Romanians. Hee, hee, hee, hee, hee.

But seriously folks, that joke was better than this movie. When in Rome is drivel, from the very first second when we meet the protagonist, only to realise that her dialogue sucks and she's not as pretty as Josh Duhamel. I mean, come one, when Josh Duhamel wants to go out with you, you go out with Josh Duhamel. No matter how willingly the audience suspends its disbelief, no-one is going to believe that anyone turned him down. I know straight guys and lesbians who'd jump the fence for him. He's as close as you can get to going out with Brad Pitt without going out with Brad Pitt. Josh Duhamel is hot. No dweeby short chick who works in a museum is going to say no. (See She's out of my league.)

Don't bother with this film, unless you want to spend some time perving on Josh Duhamel, who never even takes his shirt off. I can't believe he was in this dog.

The romantic comedy movie When in Rome is directed by Mark Steven Johnson and stars Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Will Arnett.
