Some places can break your heart.
Pete (Khan Chittenden) is a young man who enjoys what life has to offer. He spends his time hanging out on the tough streets of outer suburban Sydney, drinking at the local pub with friends and his cousin and best mate, Jerry (Nathan Phillips). Faced with limited choices and no-easy way out, their lives are fuelled by a cycle of booze and drugs and punctuated with intermittent violence, petty crime and careless sex.
The boys have a friendly rivalry when it comes to girls, but Pete knows he's always second in line to Jerry. Into this walks Cheryl (Gillian Alexy), she's sexy, confident and dangerous. Pete instantly falls for her; she is the girl of his dreams. But Jerry, as always, gets the girl.
One night when Jerry is at work, Pete is left with Cheryl. The forbidden couple are dangerously flirting in the lonely hours of the night. In the wake of suburban violence, when it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel, Pete and Cheryl are drawn closer to each other than ever before. Things will never be the same for either of them...
Dramatic, tense and explosive, West explores what happens when you discover how few choices you have in life.
