Theatrical report
If you like hard-hitting drama mixed in with sumptuous production values and fabulous acting in a stunning setting then you'll like Deepa Mehta's final Elemental Trilogy film, Water. The dilapidated temples, the flowing cloth, the river, the colours, the movements, the dusky-skinned maidens, the Bollywood heart-throbs...
And then there's the brain-food: religion, tradition, innocence, oppression, repression, true love, unrequited love... it doesn't get much better than this.
