Movie propaganda
Life is the ultimate work of art.
Two young American women, Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson) come to Barcelona for a summer holiday. Vicky is sensible and engaged to be married; Cristina is emotionally and sexually adventurous. In Barcelona, they're drawn into a series of unconventional romantic entanglements with Juan Antonio (Javier Bardem), a charismatic painter, who is still involved with his tempestuous ex-wife Maria Elena (Penelope Cruz). Set against the luscious Mediterranean sensuality of Barcelona, Vicky Cristina Barcelona is Woody Allen's funny and open-minded celebration of love in all its configurations.

Theatrical report
Vicky Cristina Barcelona is a surprisingly funny film about uptight Americans going abroad to Europe and discovering their previously inhibited sexuality. It is the latest in Woody Allen's collection of Euro-movies. It is sexy and full of people repeating their mistakes. Javier Bardem is full of Latino heat. Penélope Cruz shreds her way across the screen (being in the character of a psycho ex-girlfriend). Little Scarlett Johansson is all apple pie until she gets reheated in the microwave and then the crust goes all soft and the apple is steamy hot. Like I said. Sexy.
The comedy, drama movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona is directed by Woody Allen and stars Rebecca Hall, Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem.
