The year is 1971, the place is Adelaide, the world is changing.
Leanne (Pia Miranda) is a student teacher who is rarely seen without her camera. She dreams of life beyond suburban Adelaide and a safe teaching position. Bronwyn (Sacha Horler), Leanne's older sister, has settled in remote Yallaroo and feels trapped by a dull marriage, rural isolation and the harmful rays emanating from the fridge - so thoughtfully donated by her in-laws.
When enigmatic American beat poet Lou (Brett Stiller) lands in Adelaide, the sisters discover a world beyond their own.
