Oh wait, this isn't James Bond, although Pierce Brosnan could be playing him in this high drama, multi-faceted, action packed adventure. The above-mentioned Mr T Crown, the man who has everything, loves to play games (what else do you do when you're Filthy rich?). He likes to play elaborate games. So elaborate that he doesn't want anyone to catch on until the fat lady sings.
The painting has been stolen, and Rene Russo wants to get it back. Pierce wants to get it back, too, but in his own sweet time. Woo hoo! Conflict!
I enjoyed the hype that this movie received but, to be honest (well, when am I not?) there is more to The Thomas Crown affair than the hype tells you. Which is an unfortunately rare but good thing. There's lots to think about, and that's a good thing, too.
If you want a lousy plot with babes, go rent Barb Wire - Thomas Crown is anything but lousy - and ten bucks says you won't figure out how the movie ends!
