Movie propaganda

If He'd meant the commandments literally, He'd have written them in stone.

Comprised of ten vignettes, each one inspired by one of the Biblical commandments, The ten is an irreverent but hilarious illustration of how bad behaviour makes for good comedy. With each story told in a different style, but containing overlapping characters and themes, the film is a grand burlesque boasting an all-star cast that puts the sin back in cinema.

Theatrical report

It looked good at first, and I think there may have been some connection for each story intended but the first few didn't really link to each other. Or, perhaps the linkage was too deep for this analyst's interpretation skills. As a result I found it difficult to understand the point of this film beyond the fact that there are ten (10) commandments and the host is experiencing issues with all of them.

This was not the worst film I have seen recently (Red Mercury came very close) but it certainly was not the best. I suggest waiting for this DVD to become a weekly or perhaps hope for it to be broadcast as a midnight screening though I do not believe that to happen as Porkies is still a recurring favourite with the Major Networks.

The comedy movie The ten is directed by David Wain and stars Adam Brody, Winona Ryder, Liev Schreiber.
