Strictly Sinatra (Cocozza's way)
Threat advisory: Under evaluation
Movie propaganda
Tony Cocozza (Ian Hart) has a dream, to be a crooner like his idol Frank Sinatra. But the fantasy constantly clashes with his reality - singing engagements in nearly deserted third-rate basement clubs in Glasgow. Then, one day, fate walks in the door. An aging underworld mobster and his wife take a fancy to Tony's singing, and begin doing him favours to help advance his career. But there's a price to pay and Tony is drawn dangerously deeper into the underworld. Before it's too late, he must choose between chasing his elusive crooner dream and capturing the heart of a winsome cigarette girl (Kelly Macdonald) who seems to be his conscience guide. He can't have both. And in the end, he must do it his way. Also starring Brian Cox, Tommy Flanagan and Ian Bannen. Written and directed by Peter Capaldi.
