An ambitious and brilliant young couple Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) are scientist superstars, famous for splicing DNA from different animals to create bizarre hybrids. They are as in love with each other as they are with their work and they want to go the next step: splice human DNA. But when their corporate financiers refuse, they decide to experiment in secret. The result is Dren (Delphine Chanéac): an amazing creature whose rapid life cycle takes her from baby to adult in a matter of months. As Clive and Elsa struggle to keep Dren a secret, their connection to their creation evolves from scientific to personal. Ultimately, Dren exceeds the couple's wildest dreams and their most terrifying nightmares.

Theatrical report
Splice is a schlock horror film that's good for when you don't want to have to think about what you're watching. It makes you think that Adrien Brody (the dude with the nose) really needed some money for an extension on his house. There are moments when even he can't make the script work.
Mildly thrilling, a couple of good laughs, some fun effects, but very much a B-grade film that can trace its roots back to the monster movies of the 1950s. Oy.
The horror, science fiction movie Splice is directed by Vincenzo Natali and stars Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley, Delphine Chanéac.
