The world of the dead and the world of the living are about to collide.
After a night of partying, university freshman Cassie (Melissa Sagemiller) and her friends are involved in a horrific accident that turns into a gripping tale of the supernatural. Overwhelmed by startling hallucinations, Cassie has the eerie feeling that her boyfriend is trying to reach out to her from beyond the grave. Her concerned friends, Matt (Wes Bentley) and Annabel (Eliza Dushku), encourage Cassie to move on with her life and forget about Sean (Casey Affleck).
As her supernatural encounters with Sean become more real and an unearthly presence pursues her, Cassie's grip on reality slips further. Unsure of where to turn or whom to trust, Cassie begins a desperate race against time to learn who her real friends are, who wants her dead and who will be the soul survivor.
Secret Agent Acid Thunder
Could have been better. I think that there was too much going on. The average attention span of any couch potato is 20 minutes. And, probably 6 sub-plots. I counted at least 8 in Soul survivors and they were all happening at once. Sometimes if the sub-plot is not too difficult, it works. This was a very heavy film, masked by a layer of horror. I didn't understand the significance of the guys from the club.
Some other things in the film didn't make sense, but I am here to tell you if I liked it or not. I sort of did. It could have been shortened a bit, and some scenes could have been added to make other scenes more understandable. I would recommend this one, but only just. If you can get a two for one deal, hire this one, plus, Flatliners. Good combination I think plus you get to compare and contrast how Hollywood has examined death and crossing over with a subject matter that is explicit and desired yet suitable for most audiences.
