Movie propaganda

On an autumn night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history... but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.

A story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook.

Special Agent Matti

Theatrical report

Special Agent Matti likes this.

Jesse Eisenberg presents this psycho, moderately-functioning autistic dude with such deep thinking that you can't penetrate his skull to find out what's going on, even as you watch, fascinated, like seeing a promo for Australia's funniest home psychopaths (Channel Nine). I can see some awards going his way. Even more bizarre are the Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler. I was amazed to see that they found two such perfectly appropriate identical twins who are also actors, until I noticed in the credits that They cheated: there's only one Winklevoss twin and it's all special effects. I love digital effects. Go Armie Hammer. His characters are so smug that you can see the silver spoon poking out of their arses.

Meanwhile, only Mark Zuckerberg knows what he was thinking and he's playing his cards so close to his chest that you could use them for an x-ray. Aaron Sorkin has written a script that really gets you into Mark's back pocket without doing the injustice of trying to show what someone else is thinking (especially good with all these lawsuits flying around). If you liked The West Wing, then you'll like The social network. It's fun. And nasty.

The Facebook biography movie The social network is directed by David Fincher and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Joseph Mazzello, Justin Timberlake.
