Movie propaganda

You liked it before, so he's back with more, Shaft's back in action!

You can't say the mob wasn't warned about John Shaft. "He's a bad dude," a numbers racketeer cautions them. Now John Shaft (Richard Roundtree) himself will deliver that message in a way New York city's wise guys understand.

The blown-to-kingdom-come murder of a friend plunges Shaft into a case that bounces him like a pinball between the 133rd Precinct and competing mobs. But the players are about to be played in this rousing thriller.

Theatrical report

More John Shaft. If you've seen the others you'll know exactly what to expect, it's just that any sequel always loses out to the original in terms of the surprise factor. Knowing that Shaft is a legend is different from seeing him be legendary all over again.

But he's still a legend.
