Oh yes, there will be blood.
While investigating the bloody aftermath of a grizzly murder, Detective Eric Mathews (Donnie Wahlberg) has the feeling that it is the work of Jigsaw, the notorious killer who last year disappeared leaving a trail of bodies - and parts - behind.
And Mathews is right.
Jigsaw is at work again. But instead of two people locked in a room with only one unthinkable way out, there are eight. Eight strangers - unaware of their connection to each other - forced to play out a game that challenges their wits and puts their lives in jeopardy.

It's always difficult to follow up a surprise smash hit like Saw because it was such a surprise smash hit. Being a thriller makes duplicating success doubly difficult. This issue also cropped up for M Night Shyamalan with The sixth sense and Unbreakable. The second film/book/song is less striking because the first is so striking. That's why there are so many one-hit-wonders in the world.
So, having set Leigh Whannell and Darren Lynn Bousman up to fail, I will now tell you that Saw 2 is what you'd expect: more of the same bloody, thrilling, twisted, psychotic mayhem that you got the first time... but with more people. You will enjoy it, just not quite as much.
