Movie propaganda
Sara (Julia Stiles) dreams of devoting her life to dance but her plans suddenly change because of an unexpected tragedy. Now, this small-town girl from rural Illinois is forced to move to the south side of Chicago to live with her long-absent father. Feeling out of place in her new high school, Sara rediscovers her passion for dance with the help of the school's most popular student, Derek (Sean Patrick Thomas). As he guides Sara through the culture of Hip Hop, a romance is sparked that will be tested by Sara's father, Derek's ex, and his oldest boyhood friend. But the school year progresses, and the couple begins to realise that there's more at stake than the feelings of their friends and family - their dreams.

Theatrical report
Julia Stiles plays the naïve country ballerina who's afraid of being alone while she discovers her true potential. She also gets a look into the real life, day-to-day doings on of an African-American person. A dance is just a dance, be it at the barre or on the dance floor.
Save the last dance is another teenage heart-throb movie that'll sit nicely next to 10 things I hate about you.
