Depressed businessman Henry Bell (Sam Neill) and aristocrat Karen Knightly (Helena Bonham Carter) save each other's lives one night when they are ready to jump off London's Tower Bridge. Karen invents a revenge plot - she will punish Henry's enemy Bruce Tick (Steve Coogan) and Henry will destroy the life of Karen's enemy Imogen Staxton-Billing (Kristin Scott Thomas).
