They have the same dark British humour and a similar theme but one is about young men in search of identity and the other is about middle-aged men in search of identity. There are Muslims. And Zionist conspiracies. And terrorism and hate crimes and anti-Semitism. And sly digs and irony and surprises. And things that are just Wrong™.
You need to be a bit more well-educated (or perhaps just more worldly) to get everything out of The reluctant infidel because it's a more mature film by more mature film-makers for a more mature audience but there's nothing wrong with being well-educated. Or mature. Or worldly. The more the merrier.
