Chick flick.

Random hearts (and that's a chick flick title if ever I saw one) is about people having relationships: sexual, romantic, marriage, divorce, adultery, family. If that sort of thing interests you, keep reading. Otherwise, look for Something else.

Harrison Ford is a happily married man. Kristin Scott Thomas is a happily married woman. Their spouses are unhappily married, having an affair with each other and unluckily for them, sitting together on the plane that crashes on the 6 o'clock news. Naturally Harrison and Kristin meet up, fall in love, get together (big spoiler alert), fall in love and break up. The end.

The good things about this film is the performances: very strong. Harrison is extremely full on, you will see his heart being broken. The bad thing about this movie is that it's 60 minutes too long, and that's bad for a 127 minute movie. It drags. It plods. Lots of nothing blurs past on the screen (my flatmate actually fell asleep while watching!)

If you are in the mood for a slow, serious, adult romantic drama, then Random hearts is for you. If you are in the mood for a fast, offbeat, adult romantic drama, wait for Run Lola run.
