Theatrical report

Well, I didn't watch the first Prophecy, so I can't review this movie on that basis, but I still has one or two minor reservations about it anyway.

There are lots of supernatural bits, and the occasional thrilling bit, but mostly this is one of those made-for-Westies films with lots of grunginess and running around looking meaningful in long coats. My (non-Westie) flatmates didn't manage to watch the whole thing, but I am a glutton for punishment so I sat through it all, and didn't much enjoy it.

The plot holes are large enough for Lucifer to fall through but who cares as long as it looks cool? Unfortunately, it doesn't look cool: it mostly looks cheap. Some of the special effects are good but there aren't enough to make it worthwhile. The acting is straight-to-video, the script little better. Give this one a miss unless you're a Christopher Walken fan. Or heinously stoned.
