The classic Italian fairy tale of Geppetto, a toymaker, and Pinocchio, the wooden puppet who wants to be a real boy.

This version of the Pinocchio story was made in the early 1980s and it really shows. The animation is daggy: having been brought up on CGI, most kids today would turn up their noses at it. The dialogue was not originally written in English but translated to English, possibly by someone wielding a dictionary and a thesaurus. They've tried to make the words fit the characters's mouth movements and it just doesn't work. In animation the voices are usually recorded first and the characters are drawn to fit in with them. That probably happened. In Italian. Then someone tried to anglicise it for the USA market. Very dodgy.
If you want to baby-sit the rugrats this'll keep them entertained but it won't become a family favourite like the Disney version.
