Two astronauts awaken in a hyper-sleep chamber aboard a spacecraft. It's pitch black, they are disoriented, and the only sound is a low rumble and creak from the belly of the spacecraft. They can't remember anything - who are they, what is their mission? The only way out of the chamber is a dark and narrow air shaft. Corporal Bower (Ben Foster), the younger of the two, crawls inside, while the other, Lieutenant Payton (Dennis Quaid), stays behind for guidance on a radio transmitter. As Bower ventures deeper and deeper into the ship, he discovers that he and Payton are not alone. Slowly the spacecraft's shocking and deadly secrets come unravelled, and the astronauts realise that the survival of mankind hinges on their actions.

Theatrical report
Pandorum is a good try at making a spaceship horror/thriller but fails on several fronts.
The first is the memory loss caused by suspended animation. If you know that you're going to lose some of your memories, wouldn't you just write yourself a few Post-it notes and stick them on the inside of your pod?
The second is the destruction of the first spaceship (the Eden) by a psychotic crewman. Why would you make it possible for one person to mess things up with the push of one button? Submarines can be destroyed by one crew member going nuts but it's really, really hard. [NB All spaceship movies are submarine movies. - Director of Intelligence.]
The third is that cannibalism doesn't provide enough food to feed anyone for 900 years; that's why god invented herbivores, so someone (or something) could acquire calories from the sun, via plants, and send them up the food chain.
The fourth is that someone who freaks out and kills all his passengers and crew doesn't get posted to the same position on another ship.
Pandorum is a very artistic and moody thriller but doesn't cut the mustard.
The science fiction, thriller movie Pandorum is directed by Christian Alvert and stars Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster, Norman Reedus.
