Theatrical report
It should be noted that A pain in the ass (L'emmerdeur) does not involve a sore donkey.
Still, donkeys aside, at least the title falls well within the Truth in Advertising laws. This film is all about a pain in the arse: the kind of guy you should be allowed to shoot because it falls under the category of cleaning up the gene pool. If you can't handle the thought of watching 1½ hours of cringe-inducing French comedy then stay well clear of this film. It also has the dishonour of being a remake of a 1950s film by the same writer/director and it doesn't travel well. Sixty years is too long a time to update a film without rewriting some of the major premises, like the way people behave when confronted by an idiot.
The comedy, France movie A pain in the ass (L'emmerdeur) is directed by Francis Veber and stars Richard Berry, Patrick Timsit, Michel Aumont.
