The other Boleyn girl is a great companion piece to the Elizabeth duology. There is courtly intrigue. There is manoeuvring for power. There is more velvet than an explosion in a velvet factory on Velvet Island. Despite knowing that Anne Boleyn was headed for the chop I still found it thrilling to follow the machinations of the characters. Of course, it's almost all fiction but one should never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn.
