Dead if you do, dead if you don't.
Diego Luna stars as computer hacker Lolo, who is infatuated with his neighbour Andrea (Marta Belaustegui) and catalogues her every move via high-tech peeping devices. Lolo teams with amateur criminals Tomson (Jesús Ochoa) and his younger counterpart Nene (Lucas Crespi) in a deal with a Russian mobster (Norman Sotolongo) that involves the exchange of diamonds for computer access to Swiss bank accounts. But the deal goes terribly wrong after Lolo's attempts to spoil Andrea's romantic trysts spiral out of control.

Theatrical report
Nicotina - Nicotine to the linguistically challenged - is a delightful crime comedy from Mexico that revels in taking the piss out of itself as well as cocking a snoot at the generic Crime-Goes-Wrong™ flicks of Hollywood (aka "The best laid plans of mice and [humans]"). [What plans does a mouse make? - Director of Intelligence.]
Good people are bad, bad people are good and everyone gets what they deserve, in the end. And the middle. And the beginning. I'm lovin' it.
Diego Luna is really cute. I'd always thought of Gael García Bernal as the sexy one (see And your mother too (Y tu mamá también)) but after Nicotina I am happy to say that Diego is just as hot. Oh, those Mexicanos! ¡Olé!
If you have any interest in crime, comedy, black humour and losers then you'll really enjoy Nicotina. If you have no interest in crime, comedy, black humour and losers then get a sense of humour.
