In the highly-anticipated sequel to Madagascar, Alex (Ben Stiller), Marty (Chris Rock), Melman (David Schwimmer), Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith), King Julien (Sacha Baron Cohen), Maurice (Cedric the Entertainer) and the penguins and the chimps find themselves marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar. In the face of this obstacle, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane - sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all - the vast plains of Africa, where the members of our zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. Africa seems like a great place... but is it better than their Central Park home?

Madagascar: escape 2 Africa is funny but not as funny as the first one. I think that it was made because someone felt that there was an important story that needed to be told. They are probably an accountant but this movie still manages to be a good escape for the whole family, especially if you haven't seen The lion king as there are some remarkably large similarities.
Sacha Baron Cohen as King Julien remains the funniest performer/character of the lot. I like to move it, move it!
The adventure, animation movie Madagascar: escape 2 Africa is directed by Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath and stars Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith.
