Movie propaganda
Someone's got a zoo loose.
An animal rights group stages a daring infiltration into the New York Central Park Zoo, freeing four best friends - Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer), Gloria the Hippopotamus (Jada Pinkett Smith), Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller) and Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock) - from captivity. When the ship capsizes, however, they end up in Madagascar, where they are free to live in the wild... but these New Yorkers have absolutely no clue about how to fend for themselves without human care. Hilarity and hijinks ensue.

Theatrical report
Madagascar is a fun animated outing that will please the whole family. It isn't a classic. It doesn't redefine the genre. It doesn't blow your mind. It's just a safe bit of fun.
