The libertine - Johnny Depp, John Malkovich, Samantha Morton, Laurence Dunmore

Threat advisory: Under evaluation

Movie propaganda

He didn't resist temptation. He pursued it.

The true and darkly comic story of John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester (Johnny Depp) - a 17th century poet, and friend and confidant of King Charles II (John Malkovich). His rebellious escapades, sexual liaisons and subversive wit inspired awe amongst men; At least until an affair with a beautiful young actress (Samantha Morton) appeared to be the undoing of the celebrated Earl. He famously drank and debauched his way to an early grave - succumbing to syphilis at the age of 33 - only to earn posthumous critical acclaim for his life's work.
