Beware the dark side of fame.
LA clubland is a mesmerising story about an emerging rock star as he blazes a trail through the trendy and often seedy Los Angeles club scene.
Enjoying the whirlwind of impending success, Kennedy Johnson falls for beautiful clubber, Sophie Sacks. But he is torn between his new love and the temptations that come with skyrocketing stardom.
Does Kennedy want success at the expense of his most important relationship? The background of the LA club scene - sex, music, excess, corruption and betrayal - serves to blur the answers to this question.

Theatrical report
I don't think that any of this is new. I want to see something about struggling musos that's new and unexplored. The best way to make a film like that is with actors who aren't famous and have never been on the big screen because their talent is raw and unfinished. When you finish your film and they become famous, move on.
I didn't like LA clubland because the actors were names: they've already been shaped and moulded into what the world wants them to be.
