Movie propaganda
Liu Jian (Jet Li), China's top government agent, arrives in Paris from Shanghai to carry out a sensitive, top-secret mission. Liu is in Paris to assist Jean -Pierre Richard (Tchéky Karyo), an unorthodox police official with a small army to back him up. The mission goes horribly wrong as the man Liu had come to help betrays him. Liu becomes trapped in a vast and deadly conspiracy - accused of murder he did not commit, and on the run in a city he doesn't know. With nowhere to turn, Liu is thrown together with Jessica (Bridget Fonda), an American woman who Richard has forced into prostitution. As Jessica and Liu go up against the cunning and ruthless adversary who set their respective traps in motion, Liu makes a promise to Jessica that could compromise his career - and even his life.

Theatrical report
Romeo must fight.
As you'd expect from a Jet Li film, there's lots of action, plenty of hand to hand combat (and foot and head and arm, etc.), some good guys, some bad guys, a good friend who gets killed, a sexy woman to rescue, a betrayal, a crime and lots of running around. You get all that plus the added bonus of not having any of the events set in the USA. It's all in France. How cool is that? A big-time story about big-time crime that doesn't involve the USA (except for one but she's only a prostitute).
You know what you're going to get and it's as reassuring as a McHungry Burger Taco Chicken Hut meal. Enjoy.
