The kid stays in the picture

Threat advisory: Under evaluation

Movie propaganda

Success. Scandal. Glamour. Sex. Infamy.

The kid stays in the picture traces the meteoric rise, fall, and rise again of legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans.

At 34, after a glamorous but short-lived acting career and with no producing credits to his name, Evans landed a job as chief of production at Paramount Pictures. From 1966 to 1974 he was responsible for some of the greatest films of the 70s including The Godfather, Love story, The odd couple and Chinatown, before becoming mired in heartbreak, cocaine and scandal.

Hardly traditional by documentary standards, The kid stays in the picture combines a rich collection of film clips, news footage and photos which heighten Evan's shameless and engaging narration.
