Every kiss has a story.
Welcome to an original vision of the romantic comedy as a Kafkaesque nightmare - a sexy, surrealistic trip through the modern relationship minefields of mistrust, misunderstanding, missed warning signs and messing around. With his first feature film, Just a kiss, director Fisher Stevens has taken on the classic theme of infidelity between men and women and given it an entirely new twist... of fate, that is.
One illicit kiss sends a group of young Manhattanites on a wild, eye-popping ride into the dark side of modern romantic neuroses. Abandoning their promising and potentially fulfilling relationships, they each set off into a surreal, fluorescent-hued New York of sexual indiscretions and chaotic accidents. In this 21st century metropolis, fate, lust and loss sometimes dangerously, often comically, collide.
To cheat or not to cheat? That is the question that faces two quintessential city couples: commercials director Dag (Ron Eldard) and his down-to-earth girlfriend Halley (Kyra Sedgwick); and peanut-butter mascot Peter (Patrick Breen) and his Prozac-popping girlfriend Rebecca (Marley Shelton).
When Dag finds himself tempted to kiss the flirtatious and beautiful Rebecca, he gives in, not considering that this small act will have colossal consequences as it ripples through the lives of everyone to whom he is connected. Dag finds himself wrapped up in a romantic nightmare as his infidelity sets off a chain reaction of emotional break-ups and new sexual attractions.
