Movie propaganda
In 1972 the American film industry witnessed one of the most miraculous events of the century. A film, made for a reported US$25,000 grossed over US$600 million worldwide. Not only that, but it also sparked a sexual revolution. Released at the very moment when the movements for sexual liberation, equal rights and counter-cultural values were reaching fever pitch, the adult film Deep throat could not have been more timely, nor more scandalous! It unexpectedly became the flashpoint for an unprecedented social and political fire-storm - a major cultural phenomenon whose impact continues to affect us today.
Now more than 30 years after Deep throat first burst upon the public consciousness, Inside 'Deep throat' examines the fallout. Exploring the vast divide between the filmmakers' intentions and the resulting reception Inside 'Deep throat' is as important a document as the original on which it is based. Featuring a parade of larger-than-life personalities, narration by Dennis Hopper and produced by Academy Award-winning Brian Grazer, this is a ground-breaking film.

Theatrical report
Firstly, yes, you do get to see some porn, including the infamous deep throat. That girl could suck a tennis ball through a garden hose. Yowza! There are also breasts, penises, buttocks and orgasms. I make no guarantees as to the reality of any of them.
On the other hand (as it were), there is also a heap of real documentary stuff, like interviews, TV clips, newspaper cuttings, original footage, political conspiracies and where-are-they-now? While Inside 'Deep throat' will never be as universal as Deep throat itself, it certainly lets you know what went on back in the day. Unfortunately, about all that's changed is the availability of pornography itself. Certainly, the producers of porn are still sleazy bastards, the actors are still at the bottom of the ladder (as it were), the politicians are still lying toward their own ends (as it were) and the censors are still trying to stop you from paying to see what you can do for free in your own home.
It makes you want to go out and vote.
