Theatrical report
I was disappointed with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It has all the essentials from the first movies but little of the heart. Like the star, it's just a little bit too old and a little bit to self-reverential; it isn't all about the hat.
I didn't like the special effects or the low-brow concepts, either. They were way too obvious, especially after seeing Prince Caspian. I know that the makers were trying to recapture the pulp adventure films from the 50s but this was crap. If this was the first film in the series I wouldn't bet on any more being made.
The action, adventure movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Shia LaBeouf, Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett.
