Violence, manipulation and betrayal. It was the family way.
Johnnie Cooper has just been released on parole after serving time for a crime he committed with his father and brother, Jamie. He is determined to stay clear of his family after his father abandoned him, leaving him to take the fall for the robbery. But old habits die hard and Johnnie soon meets up again with his brother, whose life of crime is escalating out of control. Before he knows it, Johnnie is embroiled in another planned heist, made an accessory to manslaughter and in deeper than he ever imagined. Resolute that this armed robbery will be his last, Johnnie is convinced that one final job will actually put everything right. In fact, it will blow out to be a disaster of Pulp fiction proportions and this time, Johnnie could be left to pay for the crime with his life and his family's.

Same lead actor (Matthew Modine), same socio-econimic achievement (white trash), same moral (crime doesn't pay). Different location (Mexico), different budget (more), different ending (lives). The extra point is for the violence, which is certainly higher than in The maker, and that's a good thing.
